Dacorum Sports Network will hold its next open meeting at the recently refurbished Hemel Hempstead Sports and Leisure Centre.

Dacorum Sports Network (DSN) will hold its next open meeting at the recently refurbished Hemel Hempstead Sports and Leisure Centre. The meeting is open to all community sports clubs in Dacorum.
The meeting will report on DSN’s activities since it was reconstituted last year. This has included meetings and lobbying with Dacorum Borough Council (DBC); as well as our active relationship with Herts Sports Partnership and other organisations supporting the delivery of sport in Dacorum.
Most importantly the meeting will outline issues affecting sport and clubs locally; as well as giving clubs an opportunity to ask questions and let DSN know what help and support they need; and guide what DSN should be doing over the next year or so.
    The items being discussed include:
An update from the DSN Executive Group on recent activities and strategic priorities: including meetings that have taken place with DBC (with Leader of the Council Cllr. Andrew Williams and also with the portfolio holder for Sport Cllr Neil Harden); as well as our relationship with other organisations supporting the delivery of sport in Dacorum.
The DBC Local Plan to 2036 – what this may mean for sport in the borough and how sport will need to respond.
The Outdoor Sports and Leisure Facilities Review currently being undertaken by consultants KKP on behalf of DBC – why this is important for clubs and how such studies may affect clubs in the future
The DBC Sports and Leisure Strategy – the outline of which has recently been adopted by the Council and is now to be shaped by a Project Board in which DSN has been promised an integral role.
The DSN Clubs Database – our plans to update, cleanse and maintain this as a valuable asset for the benefit of clubs and the community
Extending our engagement with the sporting community – by increased communication (incl social networking); and by establishing a network of key contacts (from clubs) that together can help us to fully represent and liaise with all the different sports and clubs in all parts of the Borough
The meeting is intended to finish no later than 9pm.
