Notice to Local Sports Clubs in Dacorum Urgent Action, Consultation, Public Webinars

Dacorum Local Plan

The new Dacorum Local Plan details proposals for a 30% growth in housing in Dacorum between now and 2038 and proposes where this will be located. This is of major importance and relevance to all residents of Dacorum and especially to sports clubs; and you have a limited time (ONLY UNTIL 7th FEBRUARY) to view the plan and respond to the public consultation.

The attached document explains more and provides links to the plan and the consultation portal, as well as explaining the DSN position and response. We would strongly advise that you study this plan and consider its implications for your club, and then respond accordingly via the Consultation Portal.

Bulbourne Cross

The attached document also refers to a potential new housing development at Bourne End, entitled Bulbourne Cross, which incorporates an extensive Multi-Sports Hub to serve Berkhamsted. The draft plans propose a development of sports and leisure facilities on 10ha (25 acres) of land and may include a football stadium, grass sports pitches for football and rugby, a 3G pitch, a MUGA, indoor sports space for gymnastics, futsal, netball and other indoor sports and a hub for other activities and clubs such as cycling and running. You can find out more on the project website.

Following an initial Developer briefing held in December attended by the DSN Exec Team, public webinars are being held this week on the evenings of January 12th and January 14th:

If you have any specific comments or questions on the above, related specifically to your club or sport. let us know.
