Tring Brewery are providing Beer and Brewery Tours free for the walkers, and the Akeman are providing free food – we just ask non walkers for a contribution for theirBeer and Food. I am told Austin Healy has joined the Walk team (must have heard about the free food) and look out for further news on other celbrities who will be walking and playing in the cricket match.
If you register (£10 Fee) either via our registration form online or even on the day and you’ll get a participation T-Shirt. The £10 registration fee is just the start of you money raising activities, we would love to see you being sponsored for the walk and raising a whole lot more for the charity
If you can walk on the 23rd to Kings Langley then the Rising Sun canal side Berhamsted are making Bacon Butties available for breakfast from 8.00am. Last year there were even some drinking strong cider with the butties.
Day walkerscan join on either Tuesday 22nd or Wednesday 23rd May on this years Walk4Matt. On Tuesday they are starting at Stoke Hammond and walking to Tring Station approximately 16 miles and on Wednesday they start at Tring Station and walk to Kings Langley, approximately 14 miles, taking in the glorious countryside as you follow the Grand Union canal towpath. All they ask is that you raise as much money as you can for the Walk4Matt and come and enjoy this fun event, wearing your club colours and we’ll make sure you get back to your starting point at the end of the day.
The Matt Hampson Foundation was formed in 2011 and is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission of England and Wales. Charity number 1139823.
Their aim is to provide advice, support, relief and/or treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation.
They mainly assist people who have received such injuries in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland but that does not preclude them from helping those in other parts of the World who need urgent assistance.
Through Matt Hampson, the foundation is also able to offer mentoring, friendship and education. Very often a chat with somebody such as Matt who has been through it, ‘got the t-shirt’ and overcome many issues himself is the best assistance that injured personnel can get.
Matt’s educational visits to schools and clubs provide understanding and can be extremely motivational to those who hear him talk about his experiences and his zest for life.If you would like to know more about the foundation, its aims or you would like to know more about Matt’s educational visits, contact info@hambo.co.uk for further details.
