Saturday 20 July to Sunday 28 July 2013
Replay – Dacorum’s Olympic Legacy Festival of Sport 2013
Replay celebrates one year on from the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012 in London, and one to go until the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow; but most importantly, Replay brings the Olympic Legacy to life by giving people in Dacorum, of all ages and abilities, the chance to experience a range of sporting events and activities.
If you’re not already involved in sport, want to get back into sport or if you just want to have fun with the family and try something new, then Replay provides the ideal starting point. Throughout the festival period, local sports clubs and other sporting organisations across the borough are opening their doors and running events such as offering free taster sessions at their clubs.
Replay is packed with great opportunities. On Sunday 21st Dacorum School Sports Network will be holding their Family Fun Day at the Hemel Hempstead Athletics Stadium at Jarmans Park; and at the same venue on the last day of Replay, Sunday 28 July, the Herts Disability Games will be taking place – the only event that is restricted to invited participants. All the other events are open to all, so anyone can come along and join in as many events as they want.
Throughout the eight days of Replay there are more than 15 sports to try at more than 30 events right across the borough – so there’s bound to be events near you. The participating clubs will be providing the expert coaches, facilities and in most cases the equipment you will need to get a real taste of the sports on offer. There are opportunities for kids and adults of all ages, for boys and girls. The Sportspace sports centres in Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted will also be open and free for all on Saturday 27 July; so people can come and use the facilities and also meet some of the clubs who use these centres for their sport.
