Club description

Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club (HHSC) ranks as one of Hertfordshire’s premier clubs. The Club currently has in excess of 250 members from age 5 to Masters Level who compete regularly in a wide range of competitions from novice to national standard. We are a Swim21 Accredited Club, at Skill Development level. Swim21 is the ASA’s kitemark which recognises well-run clubs.
If you are interested in joining HHSC, contact our Head Coach, Alan Doyle, on 07971 462993 or email Alan, being sure to include your telephone number in the message: alan.doyle@hhsc.org.uk. New members can join the Club from 5 years upwards after an initial assessment by one of our trained coaches. They can then swim for a number of sessions on a free trial basis, before paying membership fees appropriate to the swim group they join. If joining from another club, a swimmer’s current personal best times or PBs will determine what group he or she should join, space permitting. The training programme is organised by grouping swimmers according to their ability, attitude and age. For more details of the different groups and training times and news of events we compete in, visit our website at the above address. Apart from our Head Coach, the club is run by volunteers who run the training sessions, support our swimmers at galas, work poolside during events as timekeepers, judges, etc., raise funds and manage the club by serving on our committee. It’s a great way for parents to get involved!
We are based at the Sportspace, Park Road, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP1 1JS, telephone 01442 228188. Our facilities at Hemel Hempstead include a 25m indoor pool, a 17m flexi pool. Our top swimmers also train once a week at the 50 metre pool in Luton.
